URGENT

If you are not already aware, an area of 35 ha at Patch Park Farm, Abridge has been put forward as a potential site for sand and gravel extraction. The output would be some 120,000 tonnes per year over a 7-10 year period and would include a processing plant in a field to the East of the designated site. The land would gradually be restored using imported pre-treated inert waste to the same tonnage. Access would be by the A113 close to Arnolds Farm.
You can easily see the plans for Patch Park - scroll down the attached Agenda for the next LDF Cabinet Meeting on 9th November. This will be held at the Civic Offices in Epping.

We only recently learned that the Patch Park site is included with others which have been put forward by Essex County Council, under their Minerals Development Document, for a consultation period which ends on November 12th.

The following link is to the ECC website, with background information and how to comment if you so wish.

consult.essexcc.gov.uk...ent-787196

Please contact the council and object to this proposal if you wish to protect this fishery.

the whole area is full of gravel. years of flooding and changing the rivers
route have left the adjacent fields loaded with gravel. i wonder if the ea will monitor the extraction. does complaining do any good? i remember
stanstead airport while they were stll deciding what site to pick the A120 was being totally overhauled to carry more traffic as they had already decided on stanstead. they think the little guy in the street is stupid. i have had a lot of dealings with councils and they are useless. lambeth council have no rubbish recycling at the town hall as staff could not differentiate between paper, cardboard and genral rubbish.

I don't have problem with this, every one of our pits had to be dug at sometime. If it ever gets dug someone in the future will be fishing it.

Not according to the first post which states "The land would gradually be restored using imported pre-treated inert waste to the same tonnage"

This might be so, but aren't also trying to build flood lagoons along the Roding. So it would kill 2 birds with one stone. I can't see this happening for years and the way the Roding as been over the past few years I can't see it making much if any difference.

i think the flood relief lagoons are still under negotiation as they were meant to be built by now.
