things have been happening since the alledged raphaels park thing.
i have finally got permission to have my own lake. i managed to persuade a local farmer to clean up his old res (he used it for his crops) now no longer used but in a real state.
He has allowed me to do the work (12 months free lease) on th understanding that if he is happy he allow me to increase this to a permanent arrangement. (in writing).
But i have done 6 months work and is now looking a lot better than it was (full of weeds and debris) after clearance it is now revealed that the lake is 16 ft in the middle and 3/5ft on sides.
fish wise was a dissapointment. Tench roach brown goldfish rudd and a big surprise a few golden orfe. but no carp except a small number of crucians. so now looking to finish off the job and wait until next year when i hope to sign contract. (even if this does not happen i would not be displeased as had a great time with it).
the bad news there is no access from the road so it can never be a fishery not without planning permission from brentwood (very unlikely as the council have probs with travellers nearby).
god know what i am going to do with it.

It can still be a fishery Flash, doesn;t need to have access to a road, just access for people to get to the lake. Obviously a stocking program would be need as well!

Don't give up though mate, as it sounds like you have put a lot of hard work into the place. Congrats!

regarding could it be a fishery the easy answer is no. the land it bordered by is leased to another farmer.
only the lake and immediate area is his. from what i gather the land has been leased out for many years. And offcourse the dirttrack close by is a joke, you would have trouble walking along it in the winter let alone a 4 by 4 going down it.
But i have enjoyed the challenge and now very close to finishing it ! Now my next project (oh yes there is one ).

I'm confused Confused What was/is the point of all your hard work if you can't fish it? If there's no access how have you managed to get tools etc to the lake/pond to carry out all your hard work?
