Apparently someone has been notching the tails of the carp at Willow mere Evil or Very Mad

If you have done this and are reading this (unlikely, I know), stop being such a d*ckhead, perhaps we should cut a lump out of your backside.

clipping tails used to happen a lot on european waters by dutch and german anglers , one would cut the bottom piece and the other would cut the top so they knew a dutch or german had caught it . i have seen this on at least 2 fish at straits mill , fishing dont get a good press anyway but when you get idiots like that what can you do , you will be very lucky to catch these idiots , they are not anglers who do these sort of thing they are just evil arseholes ...

Obviously a very dumb individual wanting to identify between new and previously caught carp just for his own selfish means.

The capture on bdac site reckons its the 3rd carp he's caught like this from the same water, judging by the pic it isn't exactly a small nip either.

Not good especially if the trend starts to follow on elsewhere. This sort of thing really makes me angry Evil or Very Mad

Out of interest what size have all the fish been? I suspect its generally the larger fish that this Moron is keeping a personal record of?

it proves what idiots and sick people in this club and other clubs , i can reconise fish that i have caught if i catch them again as all mirror carp have different scale pattens or marks , commons are a bit harder but if you look a bit harder you will see marks or body shapes . i have only seen this at straits mill old thunder had a bit of his tail cut i saw another common swim past close in and that had a bit missing , i also had a common at 23-10 with a bit missing . this started about 8 years ago over at straits i told terry about it but what can you do unless you catch he person doing it , you cannot be over there 24-7 and even if you was you still wont see every fish caught . the fish that i saw their tails had healed and they seemed ok but it dont make it right , every fish that i catch and i mean every fish is treated with respect so other people will have the same pleasure as i did catching them...

Agree, it's not likely to do the fish any harm but the thought of seeing every carp with an unaturally perfect right angle cut from it's tail isn't something nice to see on an otherwise perfect fish

Maybe its partly some kind of lame trophy hunting thing of wanting to leave their mark on every decent fish in the lake bit like how a graffiti leaves his mark on walls Sad
