no but there are free stretches in buckhurst hill, loughton and woodford.roding road, lower queens road, bush rd and chafford walk. i dont fish any of this and as there is a good barbel survival rate in these areas you will sruggle to get any info. all these acess points were given to me by EA staff so if you do go dont forget your licence.
your best bet is doing a recce if your serious. if you get to the river swims will be obvious.

the local EA enforcement officer reckons lower queens road is pretty good near buckhurst hill station.

Yes i noticed how much weed there still was. i had a couple of hours at it in the end, i wanted to stay till dark but the rain was terrible and the call of home grew strong. another guy was trotting maggots and he had 10 fish small roach and dace. my bread flake was not touched.

went over stanford rivers today in the afternoon and seeing ice in the edges and brilliant sunshine didn,t fancy my chances. using a centerpin and stickfloat tried all ythe usual swims such as the bomb hole , 3 willows etc got to the s bend swim wich i had already tried and chucked a few maggots in earlier gave it another go. i got lower and moved slower as you are almost on top of the fish and flicked out the float. i trotted the float down in the really slow flow and it shot under. i caught 2 small roach then a dace and what i thought was a small chubb which turned out to be a 10 ozs roach. a perch or jack pike swirled in the swim so i moved on. in the big swim next to the ditch i found a slack and a quick check with a plumet and it was 8ft deep about 4ft from the bank i missed a bite and then caught a small roach. by now it was getting dark and it was 1c so i left about 16.45. hope we have some rain for next week.
