Im just about to sort some of my old tackle out,and rather than throw it,i was wondering if anyone in the area does a workshop for kids during the summer hols/summer eves. If there isnt, could some of us maybe, set one up and put back into the sport, what we get out of it,and teach them some good old fashioned bankside eticut. any ideas?

I think the guys at BG have an open day for the kid etc, may be worth PM'ing one of them mate.

Great idea by the way!

Carp fishermen watch football, drink beer, drive fast cars and prefer sassy women with big breasts. Trout fishermen watch songs of praise, drink white wine, drive 3 wheeled cars with passenger-side air bags and hardly think about women at all. This last characteristic may have something to do with the fact that trout fishermen spend most of the time immersed up to the thighs in ice-cold water.

Hi Bob. They are that. I myself lost hundreds of pounds worth to an ex in 2004. Some women can be so bitter. lol. Most of which, was collected from my early days,so had some memories. These are just rods i picked up since then to rebuild my tackle. In some respects, its better, but i lost some favourite rods that never would look outdated. Will look up birds green. Cheers.

Nice gesture, good on you mate.

I have a few spare floats, if they are of any use to anyone as i dont need them as i bought a float wallet recently packed with floats.

No charge by the way.

I pmd paul. It seems they dont do it,as summer is their busiest time,so,the tackle is still on offer if there is a kids club out there. If theres no offers,i may look into starting one. Whats involved? CRB checks for adult helpers? Insurance? Sponsors? Venue(a syndicate thats dead in the week would be nice, and community spirited). More tackle, baits. And most of all, anglers with time and patience to pass on our great sport.
