You could always go down there and give the bailiffs a hand. The pumps need looking after 24*7 until the problem is resolved.

Blunts is open again.
I spoke to Paul earlier today.
There were a few fish losses but thanks to the prompt action of the Bailiffs, the vast majority of the fish were saved.

Cants did not suffer the oxygen depletion that happened to Blunts. no fish were lost from Cants.
The reason for this is believed to be that the prevailing wind comes across the field onto Cants before going over Blunts. During the problems it was clear to see that there was a good ripple on Cants. This turns the water over and increases it's oxygen content.
At the same time, Blunts was as flat as a mill pond. The foliage was sending the wind up and over the lake. That is why the bailiffs have removed the trees and bushes from blunts, including making a channel for the wind to get across the island and oxygenate the back pool.

If people are unhappy that the fisheries management guys worked 24*7 to save the fish in Blunts, then i think that is pretty sad. Everything was done to save the fish, and from what I hear it has been successful.

btw I am just a standard member, but I do talk to the people who gave up their free time to save our fishing. Perhaps those that are moaning should give up some of their spare time, then they may understand a bit more about what it takes to keep the club running.

New members will have to attend 1 work party, during the close season, to be able to fish from the 1st May otherwise they have to wait till 1st June.
Im not sure if this applies to existing members but I believe it does.IT DOES
