Just got back from a successful week's fishing on the River Ebro with a few of the lads from Birds Green. Quite a few 100lb+ cats came out during the week and I was lucky enough to land a wee beastie weighing in at 168lb which turned out to be a new record for that stretch of the river. Was a new PB also. Well it had to be as it was my first cat, home or abroad. Stuck a couple of pictures in the gallery as a taster for any of you who are thinking of going out that way in the future.

Thanks all. Not sure how long it took. Seemed like ages. Emptynet filmed the last 10 minutes when it got close to the boat but I only managed to get it up to the surface right at the end when we were all surprised by the size of it (apart from my back, that is, which felt that I'd hooked a passing submarine)

Well done and what great pictures. Very Happy

How on earth did you get it on the bank side though, may sound a silly question but something that big and heavy, how did you do it. Question Question

From what I have seen you grab them in the gob and drag them sindybird.

I have never caught a big cat or any cat but from what videos I have seen the big ones are pulled out of the water.
