new format looks good
went to shonks mill today and only the center of river was clear and some places the flow was running under the ice. walked on the ice while a friend took a pic it held my 92 kgs but was only 3 ft deep if it didn,t take my weight. decided to go to the ingrebourne at harold wood park. i think the level station is faulty as the water was well down and the station put it at a metre up. i had 5 small dace a better dace and a small chubb my friend had some better dace small chubb and lost an eel in the big swim with the big pipe. we was going to fish stanford rivers so we only had our centerpins and stick floats still it was worth a few hours.

Andy this as been showing over a metre of water for some months. Their level readings never seem to me to show the true level anywhere.

Try the railway bridge at harold court road right at the very end yu see the river. there are several barbel there, ok only small ones about a couple of pounds but they are barbel. Locals tend to feed the fish from there gardens also but its unlikely to gain access unless yu walk along the river as its owned by the river board/railwaycompany . People who live there dont seem to have a fence on that side because of rows with the water board/railway as to exactly who owns the land there !

The ingrebourne ! The beam comes from the back of rush green there is also the ravensbourne in havering too. The one at the back of the one way system. The beam comes from hornchurch and makes its way into romford via upper rainham road ,rom valley road then think it goes north st then along parkside avenue.
The beam look fishable from hornchurch end to roneo corner.
But how yu get on it is another question.
Now the river rom appears to be really the beam (in my view)it runs from romford past crownfield school along carter drive towards stapleford abbots etc etc.

The Beam runs through the Ford Motor Works, I think it'd be nigh on impossible to get permission to fish.

When I did contract maintenance work for North Thames Gas, I often had to go to the Gas Pressure Reducing Station just inside Fords boundary.

the Beam runs right past the back of the PRS, I often used to have my lunch by the stream and never saw a fish, plenty of Kingfishers there tho', so there must have been some fish life.

It's around 35 feet wide there, with good flow but quite shallow and no features at all.

This was 20 years ago so may have altered a lot since then.

lee i would think that would be pretty instant like harold wood park however most of the harold park fish are very small. at ford motor works isn,t that the last remains of the failed romford canal?

See there is some work being carried out along the stretch from Hacton Lane to The airfield.
Diggers are working on the banks making certain parts wider to make 'pool' like parts along the river. Was told this was to improve the water flow.
