right there are moves for a approved club to run fishing at raphaels park. will be supprted by the police(as its them that will be overseeing the fishery themselves and paying for the publc liability insurance) and the council to run the fishery.
What is wanted now is up to 50 members to join the newly formed club. There is unlikely to be any day tickets as it will be a members only If 50 members or so cant be found would mean that fishing is likely to be banned indefernitly. also night fishing is going to be banned and a close season inforced (i am not happy about that myself) further assurances are likely to be found regarding stocking the lake with other species of fish other than carp. I gather there are carp to 38lbs there.
Haveing spoken to a offical at becmain i have had an assurance( verbally ony) that they didnot take any fish out of the lake.

Where does this information come from?
50 members seems a really low number to me for what is used primarily by older people and youngsters on the float, from memory so to have a pretty exclusive membership would seem foolish to me!

How Much a year, who will manage stocks, who will control coffers. When will the ticket run from. Who will be responsible for security.
Questions Questions, will there be a statement from Havering.
50 members seems about right for a water that sizeif it were a closed door syndicate in someones back yard, but what is there to stop Joe public fishing. It will be like Shoebury and Priory impossible NOT to allow day tickets.
Interesting though.

To be honest with ya if it means that the fish stay there then its a good thing. Well i reckon its something to support whole heartedly if we get the chance.
We bleat on about bretons and the state of it over there, so if something can be proved to work on a council water then it may just encourage them to support more ideas for other waters.
Yer it gets my support and if i can help in any way then i will.

SO if i fish from my garden do i still have to pay?
As would seem unfair if everyones paying a membership fee and i got five mates fishing at the bottom of me garden for free.

surely that would give us the right away to send a few 4ounce leads over the pond bloody good point as there is one house with a carper living there at the moment

I like the idea of the place being managed, but a closed door?
Sure thats great if you're in on it but what about all the youngsters? Local residents who might only be casual anglers? People like me who already belong to a club or have a favourite water but only occasionally want a change of scenery and a challenge?
Personally i think a day ticket arrangement or part day ticket (eg 10 day tickets, and 10 members per day or whatever)
I think it would be irresponsible to exclude such people from the lake given the fact that they have grown up around it and given its history/location in a popular park which is fairly well used for angling already it would be a bad move to close it down.
And as others have said security is going to be your number one problem, we know of people climbing gates/getting around security to night fish it currently (no names ) so what would be to stop me climbing the gates at 10pm with just one rod and a chair/bedchair and fishing until 5am?
Thats my opinion anyway, a day ticket system, perhaps, a closed door? not what i would do with it, still good luck!

then they would need to join raphaels as a cllub from what im gathering? i doubt its a closed door shadow infact i bet there is a wire crossed here somewhere, its early days yet i suppose, but what do i know i found out when you did mate

It'd be good for angling as a sport if the lake was taken over on a day ticket practice, not so good for cheapos like me that fancy the idea of some free fishing (when i eventually get over there )

Well i'm fully behind the idea, whatever the outcome. There will always be opinions that don't please everyone. But then i need a new water or two to fish this year.
