15lbs is just about strong enough, but i'd say beef it up more for crow green. I usually get laughed at when i use 18lbs line over there but I think you need it- there's cats in there up to late 50's and very very small swims so you need to give them some stick sometimes or over wise they'll take you round the island, through over peoples line waking them up in the middle of the night, and straight in the snags- all of these have happened to me when using light line! I've even used 20lbs sea fishing line before!

Loads of cats coming out recently; fella over there had 7 runs by the time I spoke to him at 4.00pm ish the other day and had landed fish to 30+.
I use 15lb line for cats and carp that usually has a BS of 19 to 21lb as most lines are overated.

Double/treble fishmeal boilies on a long hair to a strong 4 hook is a goodun and if possible use a playing rod preferably 3lb+ TC.
I use the Free Spirit Hi-S rods in 3.5lbTC that give a reasonable bend but are strong for holding fish on a tight line.
Bear in mind there are a number of cats over 50lb in CG so be prepared with a godd sized landing net 42"+ if possible and a BIG unhooking mat.
Good luck.

The boilies i use are the Tails Up ProFish (fishmeal + liver extracts) and no, I don't know Nick.
I only fish for cats on the syndicate lake at CG.

Carperkid, your comment was unnecessary, as you say yourself, this is an open forum and we are pleased to have a wide diversity of members. Please be respectful to others... Wink
