in recent years we have seen many so-called green belt land been used for developement . Because of the pressures put on by the govt for essex councils to find new land for houses ,there now is a danger of us loseing it. Anglers are just as likely to be affected as much as dog walkers, if we allow these developements to continue.
One of the main reasons why councils love to use this land is the cost a acre of greenbelt or farmland is around £5000 an acre a acre of land with planning permission is likely to be 10 times this
( a mate of mine paid £250,000 to chelmsford council for one plot)
And who gives the planning permission Essex county council.
because the councils can do this,it means that we the taxpayer dont have a word. This is all wrong in my view because allowing this ,could mean that a number lakes in chelmsford and Basildon and all essex that is under the Essex county council umbella could be at risk from being built on.
The question to all is that do we want this or is there who cares as long it dont affect me attitude.
yes there has to be new cheaper houseing found but why dont we use the land we have already got. ie brown field sites.
Brown field sites are sites that are for industrial use only or land reclaim sites that had chemicals on and have to be checked first before its allowed to be used for houseing purposes
