ive been fishing since i was 6,am now 41

my eldest boy (3) is itching to go with me -im gonna wait until he can cast 100 yrds first or he can roll a roll up-whichever comes first

Funny tho it seems alot of folk were intoduced by their dads to fishing,my oldman hated it no interest at all and my eldest lad (18) has no interest either,he follows Rangers tho,so theres where all his cash goes..

Bob.

My dad had no interest i used to catch stickelbacks and newts from small ponds that used to exist where now there are housing estates in Wickford when i was 7. My Dads friend was really keen and he took me fishng off dover peir on holiday and i caught my first fish on rod and line, i was 9 years old then sea fishing was dead easy in them days. I stopped fishing when i was in my late teens as girls became my number one hobby. got back into fishing aged 36 (twice divorced so realised that chasing women was over rated) and have been mad keen again since then. Oh and i turned 50 this year.

Been on the bank since i could crawl!!! Laughing

Me Grandad used to take me over to his friends house which had a small lake and we'd have loads of fun all day catching rudd and crucian (which were the only fish stocked in the lake) on bread. Cool Miss those days something cronic!! Crying or Very sad I often wonder whether any of the fish in there grew to any specimen sizes, must be a good 10 years since it was last fished. I may even take a visit over there at some point.

Oh well, 22 years young now and been out for a couple of years but back in stronger than ever!! Been pretty much every day off i've had since April, my girlfriend is not a happy bunny!!! Laughing

Been fishing since I was 7 and I was self taught as nobody in my family liked fishing.

Use to fish a small pond stuffed full of Crucian Carp at my Cricket Club with a fly rod and about a meter of line, size 18 hook and a very small float no reel.
